Chapters
Chapter 1
Students learn fact families with addition and subtraction. They learn how to do double digit addition and subtraction.
Chapter 2
Students are taught how to read the clock and calendar. They learn hour, half an hour, minutes, seconds, dates, and months.
Chapter 3
Ordinal numbers, even and odd numbers, how to double and one-half numbers.
Chapter 4
Adding two- digit numbers mentally, adding in columns. Regrouping addition is the focus.
Chapter 5
Students learn about different shapes, squares, rectangles. They are introduced to fractions and taught how to compare fractions.
Chapter 6
Students are introduced to three- digit numbers. They are taught how to solve patterns and problems in the form of bar graphs and pictographs.
Chapter 7
In this chapter students learn about measuring. They learn how to measure distance and weight and their conversion units.
Chapter 8
The focus in this chapter is regrouping in addition and subtraction. Students learn how to solve word problems with bigger numbers.
Chapter 9
We focus mainly on understanding money in this level. Students learn how to add and subtract money with word problems.
Chapter 10
We introduce multiplication in this level. Relation between multiplication and addition, multiplying on a number line are the concepts that are covered in this chapter.
